Do I have to be nude?
Absolutely not! Nudity is not necessary and I would never push someone beyond their comfort level. Intimate portraits can range from fully dressed in a beautiful gown to totally nude depending on the look you are going for and your comfort level. By using props and creative posing and lighting techniques we can create implied nudity without showing any of the important bits. Sexy is not necessarily about what is shown, but how it’s shown and I believe it’s always sexier to leave a little to the imagination.
Is my session private?
Yes. There will only be you, my makeup artist and/or my wife, and I involved in the session.
Do you share my images online?
Not without your permission. It is standard studio practice to have signed model release forms from all my clients, but I would never post images online or use them for advertising without your permission.
Do you offer retouching?
Yes. All images will have basic color and exposure corrections done to them before you see the images. Any images you select for purchase will be fully retouched removing any blemishes that detract from the image. I generally do not remove natural characteristics like birth marks or moles unless requested to do so by the client.
How long will the session take?
Most sessions take about 3 hours. The first hour is in hair and makeup and then about an hour and half to two hours taking pictures. My sessions are designed to provide plenty of time for you to relax and get comfortable with the process.
Is makeup and hair included?
Yes. It is important to have makeup done by a professional who knows how makeup translates in photography.
Do you provide the outfits?
No. I do have a few items, but it is much better for you to bring your own outfits. I do have accessories for you to use such as hats, masks, scarfs, silk material, and long necklaces.
What should I bring?
Most sessions will include 3 to 4 outfit changes. It is best to bring more then less so we have options to work with. Before your photo session we will discuss styling and the types of outfits, accessories, and props we will be using.
I don’t know how to pose, will you help?
Not a problem, I will be with you every step of the way and posing is my specialty. Unless you are a professional model most people are uncomfortable in front of a camera. Long before your photo session we will discuss things you can do to get more comfortable in your own skin. During the photo session I will be guiding you through the poses and helping you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera.
Do I get the digital images of my photos?
Yes! All our portfolio packages include digital copies of the images purchased. Digital images come in the same size as the prints purchased and have no watermarks or any restrictions on use.
Can I bring someone with me to the shoot?
Unless they are being photographed as well I don’t recommend it simply because I don’t allow anyone other than you, my makeup artist and/or my wife, and myself in the shooting area during the photo session. I find that people are much more relaxed if they are able to focus on the photo session and not worrying about their friend.
Can I come meet you and see the studio before my session?
Absolutely! I’d be more than happy to schedule a time for you to come by and meet my wife and I and give you the opportunity to check out the studio. If your partner or husband would like to meet me before your photo session, they are more than welcome to come as well.
